Damian O'Sullivan was born in England (1969) of Franco-Irish parents. He studied at the Royal college of Art in London and upon completing his Masters, started designing for Hermès. Since then he has worked for a variedlist of clients in different roles ranging from art-director to product designer and even helping Anish Kapoor with one ofhis sculptures along the way. Based in Brussels, like the city, Damian O'Sullivan is European in mind and body and speaks many languages as well asunderstanding the diverse cultures in which he operates. His approach to design is to reach a deepunderstanding of the desires of his client and to then always aim at surpassing these expectations. This steadfast approach, over a period twenty five years, has earned him the trust and loyalty of many of his clients, likeHermès, for which his continued collaboration has spanned his working career.Damian O'Sullivan has also has a long standing relationship with the Design Academy Eindhoven where he has taught since 1999. His work has won many awards: BraunPrize, Dutch Design Prize, Red Dot and The Green Challenge and has been exhibited in many prestigous museums (Boijmans van Beuningen, Fondation EDF, MoMA, Sotheby¹s and the V&A). Studio O¹Sullivan, which he runs with his partner, is located on the eastern periphery of Brussels (Woluwe-Saint-Pierre)and is housed in a 1936 modernist house designed by Charles van Nueten, which won a Van de Ven prize after its completion.
